Back in December, thanks to the very cold weather that we were having, the cool temperatures were a clear inspiration for several creators. @klaudialichmanmakeup decided to create her own take on the Ice Queen. This character has been recreated several times throughout movies, TV shows and even video games, so there is much room for creative freedom when creating a costume or makeup design for this character!
For this Ice Queen makeup adaptation, Klaudia focused on a blue and white theme to mimic the cool and icy tones of winter. Using white face paint, Klaudia created a white base and contoured using a blue pigment. Very faintly, she then drew snowflake shapes all around her face from the forehead to her chin and finished off the look with a deep blue lip colour topped with clear lip gloss to complete the icy look. This Ice Queen look was completed by adding the White Mesh Contact lenses. These grid-design lenses are a great way to encourage a ‘blind effect’ stare, however, they will limit vision significantly as they cover both the iris and the pupil.
Not every costume has to be a recognisable character, so why not become the significance of something extremely human? @leahcomptonn created one of our favourite looks using the Funky Lenses contacts so far and became time itself. Choosing to create a costume that isn’t based on a character we all know from movies and books opens up your possibilities as you don’t have anything particular to base your costume on.
For this creative costume, @leahcomptonn based her look on the time of year. As it was around the end of the year when Leah chose to create this design, it was an obvious choice to take advantage of all the glitz and glam that comes with New Year’s Eve. Choosing to do a half-face creative makeup look and a soft glam look on the other is a beautiful way that Leah emphasises the time of year. Alongside this glitterball makeup look, Leah chose to add the Tick Tock clock contact lenses which sit perfectly alongside her time-enhanced creation.
Looking for some cosplay costume inspiration? @tearose.cos has got you covered! Cosplaying as a highly favoured character from the Alice in Wonderland stories, the Cheshire Cat is such a fun and bold look to get creative with. Character costumes don’t always have to be identical to what we have seen on the screens and pages of storybooks; the ability to alter and adapt your look is completely up to you!
@tearose.cos created her twist on this character look by removing the vibrant pink and purple stripes we’re used to. Instead, this look is emphasised with the features of the costume, such as the large neck bow, the fishnet gloves and long pointed nails! This cute Cheshire Cat makeup has been completed with feline features in mind, such as a large smile and cat eye makeup created with exaggerated eyeliner. To complete this costume design, @tearose.cos finished the look by adding the Cheshire Cat Cosplay lenses with a deep teal iris and a bold black vertical cat-eye pupil.
