Non-prescription coloured contact lenses can change your eye colour in the blink of an eye. We offer natural contact lenses to change your eyes to blue, brown, green, hazel and grey as well as unnatural contacts that can turn your eyes black, white or even red for events such as Halloween and cosplay.
Coloured lenses are often worn at cosplay conventions, parties, carnivals and Halloween events and have become an essential accessory for fancy dress.
Our bestselling costume lenses are white contact lenses, black contacts and red lenses. Our most popular natural coloured contacts include green contacts, blue lenses and brown contact lenses.
What coloured contact lenses suit me?
Our coloured contact lenses complement a range of hair colours and skin tones. The most important factor to consider when choosing which coloured contact lenses will suit you is your natural eye colour. If you have naturally dark brown eyes, the best coloured contact lenses for you will have vibrant pigmentation and excellent coverage in order to cover your natural eye colour. For lighter eyes, you can choose a range of coloured contact lenses including styles that are designed to enhance your natural eye colour.
Are coloured contacts safe?
Coloured contacts are safe to wear for the lifespan specified on the packaging. The coloured eye contacts are manufactured in sterile environments and are compliant to FDA standards. The way that you prepare and store your contact lenses determines how safe they are. If this is done correctly then you can easily wear your coloured contact lenses for up to 8 hours.
To prepare your coloured contact lenses, soak them in fresh multipurpose contact lens solution in an airtight contact lens case for at least 2 hours before use. If your contact lenses are reusable, for example 30 day contact lenses, you need to clean and store them in between uses. To do this, rinse your coloured contacts with multipurpose lens solution and store them in fresh solution that should be replaced regularly. If you have daily coloured contact lenses they can only be worn once before being disposed of.
Are coloured lenses hard to insert and remove?
Coloured contacts are easy to insert and remove with the right technique. Follow our lens care guide to learn how to insert and remove your lenses.
To make sure your eyes stay safe and healthy, we recommend removing coloured eye contacts if you experience any eye irritation. There are a few things you can check to help reduce irritation; check for debris on the lenses and clean them again, check that the lens is the correct orientation, check for any damage, and check that the lenses match your eye measurements. Do not attempt to wear ripped or damaged lenses. To check that your lenses are the correct orientation, place them on the end of your finger. The lens should look ‘U’ shaped rather than ‘V’ shaped.
How many hours can you wear coloured contact lenses?
We recommend wearing coloured lenses for a maximum of 8 hours. If you are wearing contacts for the first time, we suggest you only wear them for 2 hours initially with a slow build-up to 8 hours.
Can you wear multiple coloured lenses in one eye?
You should only wear one contact lens in each of your eyes. Coloured lenses should not be worn over prescription lenses or vice versa. This is known as ‘stacking’ and is very dangerous for your eye health.
Can you reuse coloured contact lenses?
You can reuse yearly or 12-monthly lenses if they are cared for and maintained. We recommend storing our colour contact lenses in cosmetic storage cases and solution once the blister packs are opened. Customers should also use lens solution to clean and sterilize the lenses before wearing them. Read our lens care guide to find out more about caring for your lenses.
Our coloured contact lenses are available as non-prescription lenses which means they do not correct vision. However, we also stock a range of prescription coloured contact lenses which are designed to correct vision and change the colour of your eyes. Make sure the measurements and strength match your latest prescription for comfortable and clear results.
